The
2012 edition of Golden Icons African Movie Awards left lots of memory and
opinion about host, Nollywood bad boy Jim Iyk.
According
to those in attendance it was an event to never forget in a hurry. When Jim iyk
showed off the stuff he was made of on stage, he kept a no choice passion in
the hearts of fans and viewers which made the audience burst into tears amidst
laughter. Although few people kept record of negativity about Jim and the
event.
Right
or wrong, one thing remains! The Golden Icons African Movie Awards was one to
reckon with, as the bad boy plays host.
Jim
Iyk took time to talk about the entertaining and dull aspects of his colleagues
in the industry.
As
usual the president of golden icons and the GIAMA Planning Committee, Bode Ojo
was present to show his amazing distinction in excellence.
The
event was planned by a well known internationally celebrated make-up and head
gear artist Chioma of Dure, based in the United States of America. Media
planning was managed by Zimbabwean-born radio personality Segun Gele. He is
based in Canada, and Mc voice was in charge of voice over for the media
production.
The
event featured a Screen Icon Search held with the purpose of identifying and
recognizing young and future talent with the right features to gain entry into
the Nollywood and Ghollywood industry.
Nigerian’s
Emem isong, Ghanian’s Frank Rajah and Pascal Patruma from USA who where the
three top Directors/Producers that moderated during Screen Icon Search, saw Dianna
who travelled all the way from London emerge winner of the search.
This
year’s version of Golden Icons African Movie Award sets to hold on the 19th
of October 2013.
If
you really enjoyed the previous event then look forward to something bigger
this season.
